We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team. You will play a key role in building a newly established internal data platform and take ownership of a specific data domain. Your work will include developing modern data products, leading smaller initiatives, and partnering with both business and IT stakeholders to shape data solutions.You will work on a modern stack built on Databricks and have a significant impact on the evolution of our data architecture and overall data culture across the company

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design and develop data products across the entire lifecycle—from ingestion to the consumption layer (business-ready data).
  • Build and maintain data ingestion / ETL pipelines.
  • Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of Data Marts for analytical and reporting needs.
  • Contribute to the migration of data from the current data warehouse to the new data platform.
  • Take responsibility for managing smaller data projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage and develop your assigned data domain, including understanding the related business area and relevant data structures.
  • Collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business partners to design effective data solutions.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and promote best practices across the team.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure high-quality implementation.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Technical skills
  • Hands-on experience delivering data products, BI solutions, or developing on Databricks or a similar modern data platform.
  • Advanced SQL skills (query optimization, complex data work, performance tuning).
  • Basic to intermediate Python skills for data processing and automation.
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence, data warehousing, star-schema, dimensional modeling, and OLAP concepts.
  • Practical experience designing and implementing Data Marts.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, version control, DevOps principles, automated testing, and deployments.
  • Experience with orchestration and data transformation tools (e.g., Airflow, Azure Data Factory, etc.).
  • Understanding of lakehouse architectures and modern data platform principles.
  • Knowledge of data governance and metadata management.
Nice to have
  • Experience using SAP systems as data sources (SAP BW, SAP HANA, or knowledge of SAP data structures).
  • Experience with migrating data warehouses or legacy systems.
  • Advanced skills in Python, PySpark, streaming technologies, or Kafka.
